How to be thankful and appreciate others
How many times a day do you thank someone for their help or tell someone they are greatly appreciated? There are a lot of unsung hero's walking the halls of life and how many of us take it granted? If you're building is fresh and clean---who's the response? If your food is good----who's the one you thank it for? There more I could go on and on about. To read the outline of my series "The journey called life" is a great starting point.
Remember to say thank you! The two most important words!
Im not saying when somebody does you a favor we should fall down on our knees and give them praise. All I'm saying is we should thank them politely.
Some people haven't learned the value of those words and don't use them regularly. There's an easy way to remind somebody who forgets to say to them. Say, "You're Welcome!" And you'll be surprised how many people you can get to say, "Thank You." They might be a little startled at or embarrassed. when they realize you are reminding them, but most of them will get the point.
It's a shame the only time we noticed a clean bathroom is when it's a dirty one. We only seem to notice the bad side of it rather than the good side and to be thankful for that. Every time I either call in, drop off, or pick up a prescription at my pharmacy I always thank them and tell them what a wonderful job they have done. And you'll never believe what they respond back, I really appreciate that it's very rare we hear someone say that to us." It's that sad.
Therefore, let's learn to be grateful without having a negative experience to wake us up. Let's start perfecting the art of graciousness and truly recognize contributions each person makes every day. All of us are better off because we contribute our expertise to the common cause and to the piece of the puzzle. If you look at every factor in what jobs people do from being janitorial to a teacher they all contribute to the above topics. Each person is an integral part of the big machine. Don't let anyone go unnoticed. We can't afford to take anyone or any service for granted. START TODAY! Be warm, friendly, and thankful to everyone. The impact of mind power too!
Do you ever feel like the world owes you a living? Or, are you thankful for the things you have and people around you?
I trust me I'm not saying you have to like everything about your life. Believe me that I can relate to not feeling thankful for a lot of my experiences in my life. All I'm asking is there are a lot of things you just take for granted and we figure we've got it coming to you. I know my family's upbringing of me would and still feels that way. Yet, I try to change my way of thinking because of being raised in an environment that would or could have made me turn out to be like this. As of today, I don't think of things in that way. I'm thankful for the good and bad times I've gone through because it has shaped into the person I am today. How I felt when I wasn't appreciated makes me know how it is on the receiving end of it so I try to make sure I treat others in a different way. Therefore, I make it a point to try to show others I'm thankful. Sometimes I do forget to. As do we all.The world doesn't owe anybody anyway!! Be grateful for a chance to learn to learn and earn!!! For your health! For people who love you!!
Remember to be thankful
I believe that the extent to which people are grateful in life has a lot to do with that amount of happiness they achieve. Grateful people carry with them an aura of good cheer and well-being. I'm not talking about optimism here. I realize that ugly terrible things going on around you all the time, but feel grateful for those terrible things don't happen to you. If terrible things do happen to realize they are only temporary and won't last forever as long as you let it go. Happy people spend more time being thankful for all the good things they have than they do being preoccupied with the unpleasant things in life. Trust me when I'm telling you this because I've been on both sides of it. I can honestly tell you I'm a much happier person than I was several years ago. Expect the best from life and as you do you'll find yourself getting it almost 90% of the time. Enjoy the food you eat, for the time you have to sleep, the people around you, even if the work you have to do. Take time to smell the roses and love life. You'll be grateful if you do!!
The two most important words:
There are two very important words we all have to use if we want to have a lot of friends and be popular but I don't think that's always true. You can still have only a few friends in your life. How often do you say those two words?? Say them to yourself and see if it sounds familiar "Thank You."
I'm not saying when somebody does you a favor we should fall down on our knees and give them praise. All I'm saying is we should thank them politely.

One last final thought:
It doesn't cost anything to be nice and polite. Most people would much rather complain and criticize than show appreciation. Most people notice the things that are wrong with them and not the gestures of kindness being offered to them.
If I were you, I'd say, "THANK YOU!!" wherever and whenever I could!
